Elin Nordegrin, his wife reportedly came to rescue Woods. When Nordegren was interviewed, she claimed to hear some violent crashing outside the house minutes after Woods left.  Nordegren allegedly rescued her husband using a golf cab that was smashed out at the back of the SUV to pull Woods out.

Tiger Woods describes the incident as a "minor car accident" but the police forces seem to disagree because of the fact that Nordegren needed to use a golf club to smash out the back of the Cadillac and rescue her husband.

But the issue right now revolves around the controversies linking Woods and Nordegren's marital problems to the car accident. 

The said controversies revolve around the answers to questions like: Why did Woods leave their house that early that morning? Where was he supposedly going? Was a fight between Nordegren and the golfer preceded the accident?

Almost all speculations about the case link Rachel Uchitel, the woman whom Woods' allegedly has an affair with. The majority of these speculations place Uchitel as the reason why Nordegren and Woods had the alleged fight that day causing Woods to leave their house early in the morning.

But neither Woods nor Nordegren would admit that the rumor is true.
